We are the families of infants whose deaths were caused by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). As parents, every infant is special, every infant is OURS. The sudden, unexpected death of a child is the greatest shock a family can experience. We remember our sons and daughters as the beautiful, vibrant miracles they are...Though our arms are empty, our hearts are full of their love which lasts forever. We live with the question, "Why?" and yearn to hear the answer. We join with you in grief for your child and for every little angel lost too early to SIDS.
What we do
The Virginia SIDS Alliance’s office is located in Yorktown, Virginia. Since its inception in 1994, the Virginia SIDS Alliance has been dedicated to supporting SIDS families, educating the public about SIDS, and supporting SIDS research. Also, through our “Cribs for Kids®” program we provide cribs for economically challenged Virginia families that would otherwise not have a safe place for their infant to sleep. The Virginia SIDS Alliance offers bereavement support to families who have lost their precious infant to SIDS. We will help you see there is a tomorrow. Our facilitators and support group members give their time and their hearts to answer your questions, to share their experiences and strength. Your family and friends desperately want to help, but they often don't know what to do. Please know we're here for you and your family.
